The Julia Institute

"Learn more. Learn better. "

Our very brief history ...

In 2008, we began a completely new institute. A number of well-wishers have contacted us to ask if we are still in business or what the reason is for the relatively slow development of our website.

We are definitely in business! Almost immediately upon incorporation, we were hired to work on several projects. Two of our works in progress include the new Tribal Leaders Institute course, Introduction to Ethics for Tribal Workers and the Tribal Leaders wiki.

As you can see, we are in the early stages of both of these projects. Another project on the agenda for 2009 is a revision of two programs offering on-line courses. These include the Caring for Our People project, training staff members to care for individuals with disabilities and chronic illness on American Indian reservations, and the Family Life Series, offering training for persons with disabilities and their families.

Latest news

You might wonder why with all of this work we haven't hired more people. Actually, we added three new employees, most recently, Kelly Reynolds, and Jennifer Rousey, who are assisting with editing, data entry, literature reviews and graphic design. Welcome aboard! We have also been working with a few subcontractors, particularly the wonderful Willie Davis from the Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa.

The Julia Group maintains a commitment to our vision of sustainable growth, of adding employees only for the long-term and taking no more business than we can complete with an exceptional level of quality. Bigger isn't always better. Better is always better. We try to make life better, for our clients, employees and contractors.

We have had a productive and profitable first year and look forward to working with our clients, contractors and employees to make our second year even (you guessed it!) - better.
